Teach financial responsibility with Guthrie Federal Credit Union's Youth Share Account, for children ages 17 and under.

Open an account today to begin teaching your child about responsible money management.  Youth Accounts are a great way to save for a new car or a college education.  

Advantages include:

  • The minimum balance to open Share Certificates (CDs) is only $250
  • Earn the Relationship Advantage on Share Certificates when enrolled in eStatements

If you are a member and would like to open an account for a child age 17 and under, please have the following items with you:

  • Child's birth certificate
  • Child's social security card
  • $10.00 to open the account

All Youth Accounts must have a parent and/or guardian as a Join Owner on the account.  Dividends are paid quarterly to the account.  Statements are also prepared quarterly.  When the child turns 18 the account will convert to a Prime Share Account.  To review our current rates, please click here.

Kirby Kangaroo Club: A youth education program designed for children ages 5-12 that engages children in healthy financial habits that will last a lifetime.  Kids can follow along as Kirby lives and learns some valuable life, finance, and responsiblity lessons in situations that are familiar to them.  Kids can answer questions, play games, and learn key terms that reinforce the lessons in the stories.

Claim Your Youth: A teen specific program that is designed for young members aged 13-18.  The program is designed to answer common finance questions that hinder teens' ability to take control of their finances, using topics and content that is relevant to them.
